This webpage provides a thorough—though not exhaustive—list of resources for mentoring, well-being, and diversity, equity and inclusion education.
Well-being Resources
Mentors should be willing and able to identify resources that are available to assist individuals with mental health, stress reduction or crisis situations. Be prepared to direct individuals to these offices or to facilitate a referral if necessary.
In emergency situations, call 911 or call the University Police at 847-491-3456 in Evanston or 312-503-3456 in Chicago.
Resources for other critical situations:
- Use the NUhelp website or call the Dean of Students Office (847-491-8430) to speak to the on-call administrator for guidance on which resources are most appropriate. The after-hours on-call phone number 847-467-3022.
- Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), 847-491-2151. Same-day crisis support (including after hours) counselors are available via phone 24 hours a day; press 0 to be connected to an on-call counselor. and students also can schedule non-crisis appointments online.
- Student Assistance and Support Services (SASS), 847-491-8430. SASS consults, assists and supports undergraduate and graduate students dealing with health or mental health concerns, or personal tragedies that negatively impact their success at 台湾裸聊直播, as well as coordinates medical leaves of absence and related options. SASS also can initiate student safety checks.
- TimelyCare is a free mental health app for all undergraduate and graduate students that provides access to virtual well-being resources, including scheduled counseling, the TalkNow on-demand service, Health Coaching, and Group Sessions.
- The Office of the Ombudsperson offers assistance on a broad array of issues, including academic and work-related concerns. Contact the Ombudsperson at ombuds@northwestern.edu.

The Center for Awareness, Response and Education (CARE) provides confidential resources for anyone impacted by interpersonal violence. The Respect NU site is a reporting system where students who have been the targets or witnesses of a hate or bias incident can make the university aware of these incidents.

Resources for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Education
Mentors should take responsibility for educating themselves on issues of systemic bias, privilege and representation in higher education and (if applicable) within the specific discipline or scholarship area. Understand how these factors affect groups in different ways and be mindful of how these factors may impact mentees.
Both mentors and mentees can utilize the following resources:
- The Provost's Office Faculty Searches webpages include a bibliography of studies on Unconscious Bias in higher education and links to training videos.
- Human Resources offers a DEI playlist of training videos and an unconscious bias workshop open to all faculty and staff.
- The Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching offers occasional workshops for faculty related to DEI in teaching and learning. , while focused on teaching and learning, also provides scholarship, strategies and resources applicable to mentoring.
- The Center for Leadership provides a sample commitment to , which mentors and mentees can adapt to their mentoring meetings.
- The National Center for Faculty Diversity and Development has an extensive catalogue of webinars and other resources for faculty, including support for Black students and mentees.
