Holiday Harmony: Thriving Through the Season in Recovery

Opioid Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Training
This is for students interested in being trained to administer Narcan (naloxone). Attendees will learn how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose, identify when it is appropriate to use Narcan, administer Narcan to an individual they believe is experiencing an overdose, and identify additional emergency steps to take. All attendees will receive a two-pack of Narcan upon completion of the training. Sign up now!

Quilt Poems with Daliah Silver
November 18, 6:00–8:00 PM, Norris University Center, Dittmar Memorial Gallery
Quilts tell a story through the fabric design, material, giver and recipient, and any words the maker chooses to add to their quilt. Workshop participants will learn to stitch their favorite poem, quote, or passage onto fabric, practice different embroidery stitches, and design a quilt block.
Accumulation as Metaphor Art Workshop with Katie Vota
November 20, 6:00–8:00 PM, Norris University Center, Dittmar Memorial Gallery
Participants will reference artist Richard Serra’s work Verb List, in which he compiled a series of “actions to relate to oneself, material, place, and process” to create a sculpture. Based on modalities of reuse, participants will transform a quantity of an object into art, using provided fasteners and a verb of their choosing. This workshop will guide participants to think about everyday objects in new ways, sparking creativity in their approach to art.
Kairos Retreat
November 15, 5:00 PM
Undergraduate students are invited to step away from campus for a weekend to tend to God’s movements. Kairos is an opportunity to rediscover who they are and who God is in their lives. No matter where one is on the spiritual journey, all are welcome! Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The retreat costs $125. Scholarships are available.

Compass is a cohort-based peer mentorship program that runs during the winter and spring quarters. Compass connects incoming first-generation, lower-income (FGLI), and/or undocumented/DACA students with trained 2nd-, 3rd- and 4th-year student mentors. You will learn how to successfully navigate 台湾裸聊直播 while connecting with other FGLI students through one-on-one meetings with peer mentors and weekly workshops.

CatalystNU is Accepting Applications

CatalystNU is a new program designed to transform how we engage in conversation across differences. The program empowers participants with the skills to navigate difficult dialogues effectively. Each session weaves themes such as leadership, emotional intelligence, equity and inclusion in a highly interactive format. After completing the series, participants will have gained new knowledge and expanded skill sets to use—they will be “elite conversationalists.”
Organizing for Justice - Register Now!

Register now for Organizing for Justice! This ten-week, non-credit course during Winter Quarter will teach you the skills to be an effective organizer and advocate on issues you care about. In addition to the weekly classroom component (Tuesdays from 11:00 AM-12:15 PM), you’ll work with experienced organizers on real campaigns as a field experience.
WebAIM Digital Accessibility Training

This live, online training course hosted by WebAIM, a premier digital accessibility training entity, is being offered at no cost to you or your department (a $600/per person value) and will cover accessibility principles and techniques for anyone interested in gaining a deep understanding of digital accessibility. This training is for you if you regularly create or edit content online. Basic knowledge of HTML is helpful but not required.

You can find them Sunday through Thursday at Schapiro Hall, Shepard Hall, Elder Lounge, the Multicultural Center, the Black House, and the GSRC.
